Amazon.com Review Weed Eater's Poweredge edger is a compact and easily maneuverable way to keep your lawn edges clean and precise. With a gear drive for more torque and performance, the 22 cc, two-cylinder engine has a remote air intake for a longer life. We're especially fond of the Poweredge's Comfortouch antivibration T-handle--it makes operation much more comfortable for long jobs. Offering three cutting depths and a stabilizer arm for consistently straight edges, the Poweredge's 8-1/2-inch blade cuts a variety of clean, deep trenches. Designed for both safety and precision, the blade retracts when the T-bar trigger is released. Two-year limited warranty.

Poulan/weed eater v2 cyc edger July 3, 2006 fellow 180 (Fort Worth,TX) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bought one. Love it. Light weight, easy start. I have a lot of edging to do and it works well. Take care of it and it will work well for you. The blade stops if there is more than the engine can cut. It is made that way. Perhaps some folk do not read the instructions. I would purchase this product again.
Light and powerful but won't last October 12, 2006 Tom (Freeport, Texas, USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We recenlty moved to a coner lot and edging requires significantly more effort than my old weedeater combo trimmer/edger can handle (well, it is too harsh on my back, not really a problem of the trimmer/edger combo, which I has been using for 7 years). I bought this unit since my experience with the Weedeater trimmer/edger is very good and has been using it for 7 years without any problems.
The weight balance of this unit is excellent and it is easy to be lifted even with one hand. The clutch is located right under the handle and the blade can be easily tilted up for starting. The engine is powerful enough to easily handle my edging job and is easy to start. After three times of use, I would say this is a very capable edger. Highly recommended. One reviewer indicated that the engine can get covered with dirt and mud and eventually failed the engine. I wonder how much truth is in the statement. The engine indeed is located very close the ground, but the blade and the engine are separated by the blade cover/protector. My lawn mower has been constantly clogged by cut grass and dirt all the time but never had any problem once the air filter is replaced.
Anyway, only time can tell its durability, but so far, I like it a lot.
!!! Update on August 2009. Died today due to gear wear. The edger blade stopped during mowing with engine still running. Opened the gear box and found the smaller gear is totally worn out. Lot of metal debris mixed with grease inside the gear box. So disappointed! I change my recommendation to one start instead of 5. A junk product after all....
Super "little" edger September 22, 2004 David E. Miller (Visalia CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this lightweight little edger 9 1/2 years ago and have only needed to replace the blade from time to time. It is so easy to carry with one hand, uses little fuel and is small enough to hang on the wall. I have a 10,000 sq. ft. lot with curbs everywhere. Keeps the lawn edge perfectly straight. Don't need a big one, I'm just cutting the grass.
Good performer July 21, 2007 Thomas J. Capelle The edger is easy to use and well balanced. The engine starts every time and the trimming results are great.
I recommend buying this unit if you are in the market for one.
On year # 4 with mine! June 22, 2009 R. Reinert (United States) When I 1st purchased mine at Walmart this unit ran great. After a few weeks I could not start it and had to take it to a friend who does small engine repair. The cylinder needed to be tightened in his words and ever since this unit has ran fantastic. He did increase the idle speed a bit, the blade slowly turns even at idle but when I open her up it sounds like a Cessna is landing on my street, does a fantastic cut and sips gas. If I hadnt been able to get it fixed on the cheap I would have taken her back and given it 1 star but in my case, a little tune up and she has never let me down. I would buy it again but I would buy local in case I have to return it for something I can not get fixed, but vs a $500 or more edger, that you only use twice a month, this is the best IMO.
